Back in NYC

I went to the first half of "Lets Take The Role" at The Kitchen; a hipster-meets-artworld-meets-lesbian kind of scene.

Strangely, I had just been thinking earlier that day how there really isn't a proper cultural history of art school, and in particular, that the relationship between art school and punk rock hasn't really been tackled in any consistent way. As if on cue, one of the performances took on the role of art school rock stars. The singing was half-hearted in the best punk style, but the visuals, hair, and outfits, I noticed, were razor-sharp professional.
