Brooklyn MFA show censored

Apparently the MFA senior thesis show at Brooklyn College has been shut down by city authorities. They came right up and padlocked the doors. See here for the latest.

The hilarious thing? I could have predicted that the censors would object to watercolors of gay sex, and perhaps even to a sculpture of a penis (although why the latter would be deemed offensive to "families," whose very existence often depends on aforesaid organ, beats me). But the city also cited an installation involving a pet rat as offensive. Now I haven't seen it, but, if rats are offensive to New Yorkers, then we better shut the subways and streets down!
