Homophobic dancehall

Record companies have agreed to not release or re-release dancehall music that incites murder or violence against lesbians and gays, according to the BBC.

I'm of two minds about this development. On the one hand, I am delighted not to have incitements to my murder bandied about as entertainment. On the other, my hackles are raised by quotes like the following from the article: "We'll advise them this is not the way forward in a civilised society."

As Gandhi said, when asked what he thought of Western civilization: "I think it would be a great idea."
