Mysterious Skin

Back from opening night of Greg Araki's latest, Mysterious Skin, based on the Scott Heim novel.

This film is a hybrid of Araki's punk aesthetic and the more romantic style of a director like Todd Stephens. For the most part this worked for me, although Araki's eye-candy casting, second only to Gus Van Sant's, had a lot to do with that. Jailbait, thy name is Joseph Gordon-Levitt:
